Van Fanel
Van Fanel lived in Gaea,In a country called Fanelia,and was the crowned King of Fanelia. He resided there until the near destruction of Fanelia at the hands of the Zaibach Empire.At that point,he was forced to flee with the powerful Guymelef,Escaflowne.He left with his ever faithful companion,Merle,and with a mysterious stranger from the Mystic Moon,Hitomi.
Van's father,Goau,died 12 years before,and his mother,Varie,dissapeared while searching for Van's brother,Folken,who dissapeared during a dragon slaying rite. Van's mother was also a draconian,and so is Van.He has
huge white, feathered wings.
Van is an impetous young man,who likes to practice his swordcraft,and likes to pilot his guymelef.He has huge feathery wings,a legacy from his mother,who was an Atlantian.He detests his brother,whom he finds later in the employ of the Zaibach.He convinces Hitomi ot teach him the power to see the invisible,using her pendant.
Eventually,after denying it for so long,and saving her life on numerous occasions,and watching her with Allen,He realizes that he loves Hitomi,and always has.
